How Secure is Your Future?

From the moment I took my first breath on this planet, I was doomed to eternal damnation. But that wasn't enough, I continued to dig myself further into that unimaginable abyss throughout life. A life filled with sin though I knew right from wrong. Sin and the human nature is one in the same. For me, it's like the unending Levitical law that one can never ever fulfill.

Thank God, a loving Creator, saw this and sent his Son to sacrifice himself so we have a chance to not only escape a hell we truly cannot fathom, but instead be with our Creator in another place so wonderful we cannot fathom!

If someone we knew, who did not accept Jesus, died and went to hell, then came back here to earth, they would hunt us down and slap us across the face and say, "You mean to tell me, you KNEW about hell and YOU DID NOT TELL ME?!!!"

The idea of eternal separation from my loving Father makes me weep. The idea of any of my loved ones being separated from all that is love makes me weep. It is a path we each have to choose. Sometimes it takes us a lifetime, a whole lifetime, to suffer, to mature, to become more holy.

I've heard and I've said it myself, God wants us to be happy. Happiness is a decision. God really wants us to be Holy. What does that entail and look like?  I believe for me, it looks like reflecting life as we though we know Jesus intimately. If we know Jesus intimately, the Holy Spirit is right under our chin, in the back of our throat... holding our tongues, maybe even speaking a word of encouragement, maybe even saying, "Lord, help them! (and meaning it!)" It is also learning to take your authority that Jesus left us when He indeed, left his disciples. In John 14:12, Jesus tells his followers, "whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father".

I'm not only asking you but I'm asking myself, do you believe in Him? Because if I do, I will do the works He has been doing.

Cook a meal for someone. Nothing says you care more than food. When you're grilling out your dinner tonight, throw on another few chicken pieces, take them to a neighbor. You will talk yourself out of it because it doesn't seem like much... but do it anyway. Your mind will make you believe something is foolish especially when the Holy Spirit tells you to do something. Be willing to look foolish. You have to get to this place: I don't even care. Lord, help me not to care.

Pay someone's power bill.

Buy someone's coffee behind you in the drive thru.

Take someone a bouquet of flowers picked off the side of the road.

Pay for the single mom's or dad's dinner out with their child. Because that could be you, maybe it has been.

Pay for a kid's sports fee.

Text that friend you haven't talked to in years. Tell them they have been in your thoughts!

Ask the Holy Spirit... but be ready. The opportunities are completely endless. Endless.... But the satisfaction in your heart is also, endless. This is just one of the reasons why we are here...

The Hands and Feet.
